Join fellow Houston-area students, families, and community members on a transformative learning journey that will empower you to be an advocate for free expression in k-12 schools. The Free Speech Academy is a free, six-week leadership program that provides you with the skills, resources, and relationships you need to champion students' rights in your community.

Virtual sessions will be held weekly on Zoom from 7 - 8 p.m. CT beginning Thursday, June 13. The last session will take place in person on Sunday, July 28, in downtown Houston.

This unique program is a collaboration between the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas, Students Engaged in Advancing Texas, Children’s Defense Fund - Texas, Texas Freedom to Read Project, the Texas Freedom Network, and Young Leaders, Strong City.
