Approximately 2 million Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) live in Texas.
That number continues to grow every day.
AAPIs are not a monolith — we represent over 50 ethnicities and speak over 100 languages and we live in all corners of the state. AAPIs have different policy positions, identify with different political parties, and receive information from different sources. To truly understand and advocate for the issues that matter most to Texas AAPIs, Asian Texans for Justice is committed to leveraging data to drive our strategy and decision making. We will continue to invest in research and engage with Texas AAPI voters to understand the attitudes and policy preferences of this diverse community.
Building upon the first statewide poll of AAPI voters in 2022, ATJ is expanding our research in this critical election year to learn more about who AAPI Texans are, what issues they care about, and how they feel about the 2024 election. "Deep in the Heart of Asian Texas: Insights on AAPI Voters" will be a three-part series that captures the highlights and insights from census data, qualitative studies, and a statewide poll.
