In early June of 2024, Asian Texans for Justice welcomed ten emerging AAPI leaders into their Civic Engagement Fellowship’s 2024 cohort.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — In early June, Asian Texans for Justice (ATJ) began its third year of its flagship youth program, the Civic Engagement Fellowship, selecting ten promising young leaders as Civic Engagement Fellows.

The Civic Engagement Fellowship (CEF) is a ten-week youth program created by ATJ to develop youth leadership amongst Texan Asian & Pacific Islander Americans (AAPI). The program seeks to foster a pipeline of young leaders who mobilize within their AAPI Texan communities. Each CEF Fellow concludes their program with a capstone project which is fully student designed, led, and executed. More information on the Civic Engagement Fellowship program can be found on ATJ’s website here.

ATJ’s third cohort of Civic Engagement Fellows (CEF) were selected from a particularly competitive candidate pool of fifty applicants. The 2024 CEF cohort is a diverse array of individuals across ethnicity, geographic location, and passions. Some notable research areas that the 2024 CEF Fellows are addressing through their capstone projects are healthcare, immigrant rights, education, voter rights, economic justice, public infrastructure, food access, and reproductive justice.
